3 Day Hebrides Adventure from Inverness

Hebrides - Harris and Lewis Scottish Isles

Tour description

DAY 1

Your tour begins in Inverness, where we’ll meet fellow passengers and get an introduction to the capital of the Highlands.

We’ll then leave the bustling city to immerse ourselves in some Scottish nature; we’ll enjoy a short woodland walk to the impressive Rogie Falls. Next your driver-guide will take you on to world-famous, sub-tropical-style Inverewe Garden*, perched on a peninsula at the edge of Loch Ewe.

And then on to the breath-taking Corrieshalloch Gorge, standing on the footbridge above the torrent of water plunging 46m (150ft) is an incredible experience. We’ll then continue on to the beautiful seaside town of Ullapool, where you catch the ferry to the Isle of Lewis and Harris.

You’ll then make your way to Stornoway; here you can experience authentic island life in the largest town on the Western Isles for your second night.

DAY 2

Your third day is dedicated to exploring Lewis and Harris we’ll visit a Black House village where you can step back in time and experience the history and heritage of crofting life. You’ll also get the opportunity to see a Traditional Harris Tweed Weaver at work.

Carloway Broch, a prehistoric circular stone tower, is remarkably well preserved and situated in a stunning location overlooking Loch Roag. Our next stop is Callanish home of the most complete historic stone circles in Europe.

You’ll also get the opportunity to visit Britain’s best beach, Luskentyre. The striking white sands have helped to award this beach the title of one of the top ten beaches in the entire world.

You’ll then return Stornoway for your third night.

DAY 3

Day four takes you to the Butt of Lewis, the most northerly point of the Western Isles. It holds a spot in the Guinness Book of Records for being the windiest place in the UK, but don’t let that put you off! It’s home to a red brick lighthouse and is a great place for bird and seal watching, and with spectacular cliffs this part of the coastline is a must see!

You’ll then journey back to Stornoway to jump aboard your ferry back to mainland. This day-time crossing offers spectacular views and is another fantastic chance to see lots of sea-life. Look out for dolphins, whales, porpoises, basking sharks and seals!

We’ll return to Inverness in the early evening.
