This one-day tour provides a great introduction to Scotland and what we are famous for. As you drive out of Edinburgh, you will get an introduction to our city’s old and new towns. You’ll then pass by the domineering Forth Railway Bridge and head towards Stirlingshire.
On this part of the journey your driver-guide will tell true tales of William Wallace - dramatised in the film Braveheart - and explain his link to the countryside you're passing through. You can view the Wallace Monument from Stirling Castle*, one of Scotland’s most well-kept and important castles. You will have ample time to explore it or stroll through the medieval streets that surround it.
We’ll head towards Loch Lomond and your guide will take you much further back in time, about 410 million years in fact. You will hear of how our great country was once separate from England, as we pass the Highland Boundary Fault; evidence of the origins of our country.
We’ll stop at a few different viewpoints along Loch Lomond so you have the opportunity to see the largest expanse of freshwater in the UK from a variety of stunning locations.
Our lunch time stop will be in Aberfoyle.
Our tour ends with a visit to Glengoyne Distillery*; on the
